Telstra Art Commissions Brochure

What do sci-fi art looking phones,  alternate reality science fiction computers, steam-punk looking satellite dishes & Telstra - Australia's main phone network provider have in common?

Well, everything - now...

The artists brief  was "Telstra provides the tools for farmers" - So immediately images of farming tools morphing into all the products Telstra provide to farmers came to my mind.  Computers, desk phones, satellite dishes, mobile cell phones...

After lots of grinding, cutting, welding - but even before all that - Searching for the actual parts for construction, the artworks were finally packed up and shipped to the advertising agency.  Clemenger in Brisbane, Australia.

The moment they arrived, they invited the client over to see, and then called me to say the client was impressed.

Now it was up to the graphic design department to complete the rest of the work, the actual posters and brochures.

Below is just some of the final artwork for the printed advertising material.

I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.

Ok, do you want the long version, or the short version?

SHORT VERSION:
It's the Hexanium Self Destruct Device from a Class III Star Hopper. A little rewiring has been done so that it shows the time.

Beware! I got this at a wrecking yard on one of the asteroids near...
