Geek Jewelry - Engagement Ring

Geek Jewelry - Engagement RingSci-fi Geek Jewelry Engagement Ring Jewellery Circuit Photo

Jewelry should be something special, personal, and an  engagement ring even more so...
So when a self confessed geek like myself wants to 'pop the question, of course I do it in my own style!

Yes I know it was valentines day last week, so I had to wait another week - because proposing on valentines day - that horrible hallmark holiday - would have been just about the most lame thing in the universe...

I proposed while we were at Philip Island on a weekend away with some of her friends - The two of us went for a walk along the pier, talked for a while, and then I gave her the heart shaped box, and asked her.

This is the first peice of jewelry (or jewellery for those in Australia) that I have made, however I plan to make a lot more as I am currently building a Jewelry bench.

Ok, I have been stalling you enough... she said  Yes!

Genelle and Marty Dolan at Pound Bend Victoria.

Now I just need to convince her to have a sci-fi themed wedding...   I think she would look "hot as" wearing the red dress that Milla Jovovich runs around in while slicing zombies in the Resident Evil movies...

The Geek Engagement ring is made from brass carefully shaped to the correct size.
If you are curious - the chip on top is a TC7660 Charge Pump DC-TO-DC voltage converter that turns +5V to ±5V
...Yep, that's what you get for being curious!
The Geek Engagement Ring was lovingly constructed from found objects, metal - brass, computer and mobile phone electronic circuits, felt, rubber and cardboard - and LOVE.
(This one is NOT for sale...)

Congratulations! *hug*

hmmm so how to fit the fur family into a sci-fi themed wedding.
Maybe their leashes can be the "thermal bandages" Milla wore in "teh fifth element"!

I look forward to getting our invitation in the post soon Wink

Congratulations again and best wishes for many more happy years together!
