The Age of Stupid- Our Apocalypse, Without the Science Fiction

Written by Martin Dolan

Photo: The Age of Stupid - Artwork of human interface and Pete PostlethwaiteThe Age of Stupid - Documentary that shows the results of climate change and where we are all heading.

Set in a devastated sci-fi world of 2055, Oscar-nominated Pete Postlethwaite (In The Name of the Father, Brassed Off) stars as a man living alone looking back at "archive" footage from 2007 and asking:

Why didn't we stop climate change when we had the chance?"

This is uncomfortably more science fact than science fiction, and is supported by some stunning visuals to bring home the point.   Oh, and I forgot to mention, the other star of the movie is YOU...

The artwork for the dystopian apocalyptic scenes of 2055 in The Age of Stupid is simply amazing.

I must admit I love this sort of stuff. It reminds me of the trailer for the Sci-Fi movie "Resident Evil: Apocalypse" which had an excellent take on Los Vegas after the deserts took it back.

Here are some of the stills from The Age of Stupid.

I just hope I never get to see scenes like that for real....

Here is an on set interview with Pete Postlethwaite during the making of the film

Go see this film, and if you enjoy it, great.

...If it makes you think,   that's even better!

OMG! This is sooo spookey. Too right about it sounding more like science-fact than science fiction, just look around in the "real world" and see how we humans seem to do a bloody good job of messing up. Evil or Very Mad

What the hell is going on? Why can't people see how beautiful this planet is. And how f*d up we can make it with greed, selfishness, the struggle for ultimate power and all that other crap.

Idea The planet IS worth saving. WE are worth saving. LIFE is beautiful if you live from the HEART. Come on, if everybody did their little bit, wouldn't it be awesome the difference we could make.

Thanks honey-bunch for being an ambassador and showing the rest of us stuff like this that makes you think frigging hard! Wink

wow. Las Vegas looks a lot different to when I was dancing there in a show! Look forward to seeing this when it comes to Australia.
