Does X-Men Origins: Wolverine live up to scratch? Or should we get our claws out and rip it to shreds?

Written by Martin Dolan
Picture: X-Men Origins: Wolverine- The castA spoiler free review.

The opening credit montage to depict the "early years" (which did have some similarities with the superior opening credits of Watchmen) started the action and adrenalin pumping which I am happy to say continued mostly right through to the end of the movie.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine is the second blockbuster fantasy sci-fi comic book to movie crossover this year., with a balance of special effects, visuals, storytelling and character development, like Hugh Hackmans muscles, were strong and I would have liked a bit more time getting to know Deadpool (played by Ryan Reynolds)

The energy and interaction between Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) and Sabretooth (Liev Schreiber) was believable and had some great twists. The same goes for Wolverine and his love interest Kayla Silver Fox (Lynn Collins)

There were a few scenes where the action and special effects were a bit over the top, and for a split second I wanted to call B.S. however it is a fantasy sci-fi comic book to movie crossover.

If you can deal with the fact that someone has had their bones coated with adamantium and 12inch retractable claws between their fingers, then HELLO!
You just have to suspend belief on the rest of it and have some fun.

The rest of the cast were great, notably will.i.am's first big screen role as John Wraith a teleporting mutant. A small role, but well done.

There were a few moments toward the end where it felt like the director wasn’t sure what came next, but in all, it hung together quite well.

The movie goes a long way to heal the scars left by X-men Last Stand – which was excruciatingly bad.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine is right up there with the original X-Men and X-men 2

I give it 4 shiny adamantium claws out of 5

...and a note on Spoilers:

There are no spoilers in this review, as I think even some of the trailers spoilt a few things and I hate that.
Also, why the hell anyone would watch the unfished version with incomplete special effects that was floating around on bit-torrent is beyond me. Probably the same people that rip open the corner of the wrapping paper two weeks before Christmas to see what they will get.

I will say:  Stay to the end of the credits... The VERY end...

...like all good nerds should

Ok, do you want the long version, or the short version?

SHORT VERSION:
It's the Hexanium Self Destruct Device from a Class III Star Hopper. A little rewiring has been done so that it shows the time.

Beware! I got this at a wrecking yard on one of the asteroids near...
